The Green Team, Alice Hamilton and Rylan Teddy, may have been the most determined, dedicated, and TikTok savvy team out there. They started off the 2023 Senior Survivor challenge strong by winning the first challenge which was the TikTok challenge. Winning this challenge gave them a good advantage going into the week, although they were still watching their backs. As Teddy said,“I am not scared of any teams… I am scared of Trey [from Orange Team].”

Along with winning the first challenge, they were feeling confident because each of them have many different connections through extracurriculars such as sports and music. The week prior to Senior Survivor, both Teddy and Hamilton went around the school selling items from their cart such as savory snacks, treats, drinks, Classic Pizza breadsticks, and T-shirts. Along with selling items, they reached out to teachers about why they should support their team and how they can donate. They made an effort to advertise their team in order to make as many sales as possible.

On the very first night, Sunday night, the Green Team won almost all of the challenges including finding the infamous idol. By finding the idol, the Green Team was able to steal 100 points from any team they chose. After many days of going back and forth about what team they should steal from, they decided to steal from the Light Blue Team. “I like
to stir the pot,” Teddy said.

As the week continued, the Green Team came in for another dub and won all of the challenges on Wednesday night. These challenges consisted of a lively game of kickball, an intense tournament of life-size Jenga, a delicate game of egg toss, and a fierce game of spoons. “We’re winners,” Hamilton said. The Green Team knew that from the beginning.

After two long weeks of selling items from their cart, spreading awareness about their team by posting on social media, and working hard to get people to donate, they raised $2102.85 – over $500 more than the second-place team.

“It was 100% worth doing,” Hamilton said. “It felt very surreal and something I will remember moving out of high school.”
