Tungevaag & Raaban is Scandinavian dance music producer duo. It consist of two DJ/producers, Swedish Robbin Söderlund and Norwegian Martin Tungevaag. This is their first album together but separately they both have produced albums before at the same Electronic Dance Music genre. They became a duo and started to produce music together in 2015. Besides Tungevaag & Raaban, Charlie Who? was working with them to produce this album.

Russian Roulette was released on November 27, 2015. The album consist only of four songs: “Russian Roulette,” “Samsara,” “Parade,” and “House of Mirrors.” They are all EDM genre. Their single “Samsara 2015” reached No. 1 in Finland, No. 2 in Norway and No. 4 in Sweden. It also sold platinum in all three countries.

If you’re looking for music that has a meaningful message and makes you think, this is not the one for you. The music in this album is more for dancing and partying instead of being thoughtful.

You can still find a message if you really start to analyze and listen to the album many times. In my opinion all the songs tell somehow about living in moment, enjoying life, and taking risks even if it would be scary. Take risks, be ready for everything, be anything you want, but also take responsibility of the consequences. I think the songs also have a message that there will always be someone to help you if the whole world collapses.

My personal favorites of this album are the songs “Russian Roulette” and “Samsara.” Compared to the other two they have more variety in melody and the lyrics are better.

“Russian Roulette” tells about how they love the danger and how they are ready for everything. “Samsara” is about hinduism belief that there is a cycle of death and rebirth based on how you live your life, and in the song they say how their life “is just one of many” and how they don’t want to waste time but they wanna stay in the cycle of life.

The two songs I like the least are “Parade” and “House of Mirrors.” “Parade” tells how everyone can be anything they want and enjoy the life, but the beat is too much repetition in my opinion and all the time you’re waiting for something more to happen melodically but it never will. “House of Mirrors” also tells how you can do and be anything you want and it’s fine. I don’t like the song because it has too much repetition in the lyrics and it sounds like you’re playing the song over and over again from the beginning.

The reason I chose this album is because I like electronic dance music like this and I have a lot of memories connected to these songs; it reminds me of the summer, sun, warm weather, and hanging out with friends.
