The Dexter Men’s baseball team is 2-2 over its first four games, braving the rough weather and surviving four or five cancellations.
In the season opener on April 5, Dexter split a doubleheader at Canton. The Dreads lost the first game 9-1 before winning the second game 8-2.
“In the first game, we just couldn’t hit or field at all,” junior infielder David Kreske said. “In the second game, we jumped on them early and got two runs quick and just continued from there.”
On Tuesday, Dexter split a doubleheader against Bedford. The Dreads took the opening game 2-0 but lost the second game 8-6.
“[Ryan Schoch] threw a lot of strikes and kept the ball down in the zone in the first game,” Kreske said. “They didn’t get many hits. In the second game, we just didn’t do well pitching-wise. They got a bunch of dinkers and we had a bunch of errors. We gave it to them.”
