The first play of the game, Dexter’s Alex Doletzky, passes across the field for a shot by senior Daniel Higgins that was stopped by the Lincoln Goaltender. Moments later Dexter senior Ryan Sanders layed up a corner kick for a header by senior Cole Herrald putting the Dreads up by one goal, four minutes into the first half.

The Lincoln goalie showed good focus with a diving stop on Herrald. The Dreads came right back with a shot by junior Nick Urunga that glanced over the crossbar. With 35 minutes left in the first half, dexter makes it 2-0, courtesy of senior Daniel Higgins splitting the defense and knocking one in. Right back at it, Higgins adds another goal for Dexter, tapping one in after a big rebound given up by the Lincoln Goaltender.

After many more shots on goal by Dexter, a corner kick by Doletzky connected with junior Caden Doll to make the score 4-0 at midway point in the first half. Doletzky kept it going, powering through the defense and soaring the shot high. Dexter Senior Dominic Burmeister completes a long pass right on target for junior Jake Avery, who easily taps it in. The score remains 5-0 Dexter at the end of the first half.

The team comes out in the second half in full speed. “We have good talks; we work together” Sophomore Sam Harshe, said explaining the key to staying focused. Higgins refusing to slow down, added another goal just one minute into the second half. Nine minutes later, Higgins passes up to Herrald, furthering Dexters lead to seven goals.

Burmeister leans into a shot, but was stopped by the Lincoln goaltender. “We have really good seniors” Higgins says. Dexter seniors are one of the biggest advantages of the team, providing leadership and also the majority goals in most games. Keeping the shutout intact, another Dexter senior, Max Herreld stops a hard shot by a Lincoln player with 22 minutes left in the second half.

Looking for the early victory, Sophomore Harrison Kim puts up a perfect pass for Avery who couldn’t find the corner of the net. Minutes later, Avery looking for a second chance, scrambles out front, finding the ball and tapping it in with 4:48 left in the second, making the score 8-0, forcing Lincoln to a mercy. Dexter adds another win to their perfect record.
