Mr. Heidtke
Mr. Heidtke is an English Teacher. He’s taught various classes, and is currently teaching: ULLC12, ULLC11, and TO
Q: Why did you become a teacher?
A: I remember I had a point in high school where I genuinely didn’t know what I wanted to do. I knew some of the skills that I had best figured out. But I hadn’t yet figured out what I’d want to do. I remember someone once asking me what I was gonna do. And I remember a specific teacher who actually is still in this building. They kind of jumped in and defended me. And when they did in the way that they did, I felt seen in a way that I really hadn’t been previously.
Q: Favorite sport to play?
A: That’s going to be ultimate Frisbee. I played for years in college actually started a club here in Dexter when I was in high school.
Q: Favorite sport to watch?
A: That’s going to be basketball. I think for me, so specifically pros. Always enjoy watching a good NBA game. Obviously, I’m a Pistons fan.
Mr. Snider
Mr. Snider is a Math teacher. He’s taught various math classes, but this year he teaches Advanced Algebra 2 and AP calculus
Q: If you weren’t a math teacher, what would you want to be otherwise?
A: I’ve thought about that a couple of times. I would probably look at being a civil engineer or environmental engineer because I really care about the environment. And I think with my two skills and my passion of the environment, and also my knowledge, and background in mathematics, I think they would have been a perfect fit.
Q: What would you do on your ideal day off?
A: I would probably start it off with a four- or five-mile run, go out to breakfast afterwards. I’d have lunch with my wife and then finish the night off with either hunting or fishing depending on the time of year it was.
Q: Favorite musical artist?
A: I really like Queen a lot. I really like their genre music. The other one I like is Meatloaf. I love the ballots that he wrote were very theatrical. I like to listen to those two a lot.
