The boys’ basketball defeated Pioneer on Thursday thanks to some last-second heroics from senior Brady Rosen.

The Dread’s went up early with some quick 3-pointers from point guard Drew Bishop, but the Pioneers’ Drew Lauder led his team back to take the lead late in the fourth.

With time running out  Brady Rosen grabbed the rebound and chucked up a three-quarter court shot at the end of the fourth for the win giving the Dread’s a much-needed boost heading into districts.

“Before I was thinking how we need to get a defensive stop and worst-case scenario put it in overtime,” Rosen said. “[After the heave], I was like, ‘wow, this shout could actually go in… like it’s got a good path.

“After [it went in], I was just in shock that I actually made that shot and we won off of that.”

What’s next:  Dexter will look to get a win in the first round of districts against the Pinckney Pirates at 7 p.m. Monday at Skyline High School.
